Read Across America!!!!
Students in grades 4-8 have been invited to participate in a reading challenge. We are calling this challenge Read Across America. Students have the opportunity to read a book that's either set in each of the 50 states or the author is from one of the states. Prizes will be earned based on how many states a student reads from. I am willing to help students w/finding books and authors from each state. Student Council is providing the funding for our awards. Thank you Student Council!

We have Winners!!!
The DCF award winner for this year is Wonder by RJ Palacio. Students have been raving about this book that follows a homeschooled student w/a facial deformity as he begins his first ever year at a public school.
The Red Clover award winner is The World's Greatest Lion by Ralph Helfer. This was our local winner as well and from all the buzzing that the students here at CVS did about it I'm not surprised that it was the state wide winner as well.
